Station #3

On Saturday February 27th all of us went to the Firehouse for a birthday party. Joshua thought it was pretty cool. We got to see the ambulance they keep at the fire station, a fire truck, a truck they use for wild fires, we were able to see all the equipment firemen wear and Joshua even got to sit in the drivers seat. He was impressed! It was really a good idea to take the little ones, I had never thought of it before but now he knows not to be scared if he sees a fireman. Joshua was able to see the man before and after he put on all of his gear, and now they don't seem so scary.

We have decided we should have yearly visits to the fire station, for a couple of years anyway. Joshua thought it was very neat and I'm sure he would love to go again.

Will is a pro!!

Last night as Michael and I were watching a movie I could hear Will start to wake up and fuss on the baby monitor. We have a video monitor so we can see what goes on. Well Michael and I were watching Will get upset that his pacifier was not in his mouth. I was about to save him when he found the pacifier (in his sleep) and put it back in his mouth with his eyes closed. It was the cutest thing to watch. About 5 minutes later the same thing happened but this time the pacifier was a little difficult to get to and he almost dropped it through the rails of his bed. As I was going up stairs to help him out Michael yelled up (a quiet yell) that he was able to get the pacifier in his mouth. Will then covered himself up with a blanket rolled over and went to sleep. I wonder how often this happens at night. It sure makes me want to put a lot of pacifiers in his bed at night!

Joshua is 4!!!

Joshua is now 4 years old and it is so hard to believe. We had a very busy, fun filled birthday and I believe it was a success. When Will got me up that morning I wrapped Joshua's presents and displayed them on the couch. Joshua was so happy to see his gifts sitting there nicely waiting to be opened. I liked having him open his gifts in the morning so he could play with his toys all day. He is really into castles, knights and dragons so we bought him a large castle with a dragon on it. The castle does many neat things. That was the big gift and we got him a few smaller items. After gifts Joshua requested heart french toast. It was such a big hit on Valentines day that he wanted to have it again.

After Breakfast we went to book babies (for Will) Joshua had fun showing off his birthday shirt and having everyone sing happy birthday to him. at 12:30 we had an appointment for Will, since he isn't crawling yet and has poor posture the doctor wanted to have him checked out at the developmental preschool. A physical therapist will be vising us once every other week to help him start moving.

That morning Joshua had mentioned he wanted to get his hair cut so off we went to the parlor. He did very well, so much better than last time so we took him for a small ice cream cone. We went back to the house for another nap and so Joshua could play with all of his things. Then later that afternoon we went to corona village for his birthday dinner. Joshua thought it was pretty neat that they sang happy birthday to him and put on a big hat. This has become a family tradition.

The beautiful trees that morning. I had told Joshua that God decorated the trees just for his special day. He thought that was very neat, then later was sad that they melted.

Joshua enjoying the ice cream. The silly boy that he is eats the ice cream out of the cone with a spoon then doesn't eat the cone.

Look Mom... I'm 4!!! All day he had told people that he was 3 when they would ask him how old he was. That morning I had told him that he wasn't actually 4 until 3:05pm so then he started telling people he was 3 and I would have to tell everyone the story. Once 3:05 hit he told everyone he was 4. This picture was taken at 3:05!!

Valentines Day

It is safe to say Valentines Day was very enjoyable. We celebrated the day with Joshua but Michael and I are celebrating it this coming Saturday instead because of lack of funds. Joshua woke up that morning with a Valentine gift on his little table. That morning I thought I should make him a heart felt envelope to put his little cards and candies in. He loves cards and little bags and pockets so this was perfect. We had the card mailed to Loveland Colorado so we could get the special little stamp on the card. Below is a picture of Michael's card. We also got him a little Knight and Dragon toy which he loves. Today he got the same toy from a wonderful friend for his birthday and think it is the best thing ever to have two of them.

For breakfast I made heart french toast, which Joshua said we should eat 'every morning', later he made a necklace with crochet hearts I made for him.

Joshua's Birthday Party at Chuck E Cheeses

We had a fun time last Saturday at Chuck E Cheeses for Joshua's Birthday. We met up with my sisters Wendee and Heather and Wendee's three kids. Michael's Mom, Dad and Sister met up with us as well. Joshua had a BLAST playing all the games, eating the pizza, cake, and opening the gifts. Thank you everyone for an enjoyable time.

What was left of the cake. I forgot to take the before picture. It was a pretty yummy cake.
