Moving is coming along

All of our closets are completely packed and the kitchen is completely packed. All we have left to pack are some toys of Will's in the living room and little odds and ends that will fill one box per room probably. Today I was able to get the oven, freezer, and light covers clean. Michael helped me clean our patio. Our address had been changed, we got our bills switched over. All we need to do is get some plastic wrap stuff for furniture, get the truck, load it, and leave. We are ready for the move to happen that is for sure.

Tomorrow we will drive down to Ft. Collins to take our T.V and some other odds and ends that don't fit well in boxes. I want to clean the bathrooms, kitchen, vacuum and if needed shampoo the carpets in our new place. Then on Thursday we will load everything in the truck and leave.

I am really glad we aren't moving too faraway from Laramie. I do like the people but I do not like the weather (it snowed here yesterday) and am looking forward to being closer to my sisters in Denver.

Boxes...

I have been very busy boxing up our items this last week and have no where else to put boxes really. Today I plan on getting more boxes and will probably be finished packing, aside from some clothes, toys and a few movies that is. Here are some pictures of our house piled almost to the ceiling with boxes.

All that we need to pack in our closets are our clothes!

Joshua has had fun drawing on the boxes.

Dot Art

While in Texas in January 2009 my cousin had Joshua and her daughter make some art using bingo doters. Joshua thought this was the best idea ever and had a blast. Since then the idea pops in my head that I should get some too but I never did. Well a couple of days ago, while at the dollar store, I found some bingo doters. I was so happy I bought all the colors they had (only 4), that night Joshua had a blast making pictures with these easy to use/mess free paints. Here are pictures of his creations!

My favorite one!

His first one.

Ft. Collins here we come.

We found out yesterday that we for sure got the town home in Ft. Collins! We are so excited to start this new chapter in our lives. About 4 days ago we put an add in the UW classifieds for our current town home. Since we are moving out 2 months before our lease was up we needed to find someone to finish our lease so we wouldn't have to pay double rent. We showed the house to 5 people two days ago and yesterday someone signed the lease!! We are so thrilled that we don't have to pay double rent now. I have been busy packing and actually don't have much packing left to do. Tomorrow we will be in Gillette and will come home Saturday afternoon, Sunday will be our last church service at our church here in town but we plan on going to the church picnics this summer so we can still see our friends. Then Wednesday we will go to Ft. Collins to clean up our house down there and will make the move the next day. It will be crazy but I'm sure we will be glad to be down there once we get there. I am really looking forward to slightly shorter winters!

Possible house in Ft. Collins

A lot has been happening for us this last week or two. We have been looking for houses to rent in Ft. Collins for at least a month since Michael got the job for North Western Mutual. We have had 3 scams from Craigslist asking for us to mail them money and they would mail us a check... DON'T DO IT! I was getting discouraged... then I came across this house. It is a beautiful 3 bedroom 2.5 bath town home outside of Ft. Collins on the north side of town right by I-25. It has a wonderful GREEN side yard, garage, storage under the stairs, laundry room, wood floors in the kitchen and dining area, two patios, and a pool shared with the housing area. Joshua loved the place and as we were talking with the Realtor about the house he kept asking us if this was going to be our new home. He also said 'it has a laundry room mom! You want a laundry room'. We filled out the application and waited to hear back from her, and are still waiting. According the the Realtor the place is as good as ours, we qualify! She just needs to get a hold of the Landlord to see if he likes us and wants the place to be ours. I find out tonight at 8!

In the mean time we put our current townhome in the UW classifieds to try to have it subleased for our last two months of rent, June and July. So far we have 5 people looking at the house today, one came at 8:30am the other at 12:30 and I have three more this afternoon. I am praying one of those people wants the place and will move in June first!!

Lego's

Last night we decided to dig out Michael's big box of Lego's. For months Joshua has played with a small bag of Lego's we bought at a flea market. He tries to make cars, planes, space ships, you name it from the tiny bag. This bag of Lego's frustrate us a lot since there aren't many Lego's and Joshua plays hard with them so they fall apart a lot. So last night we thought we would give him more Lego's to play with. Will was napping at the time so we spread out the Lego's everywhere so we could find all the tiny pieces. Joshua thought this was a lot of fun, having mommy and daddy on the floor with him creating things. I had fun too, since I grew up with three sisters I never got to experience playing with Lego's much.

Then Will woke up, I brought him down stairs, he saw the mess and wanted down instantly. I'm sure he thought it looked like a lot of fun. I sat him down next to me away from the Lego's. He watched at first then grabbed a wheel that was close to him, proudly laughing. Then we heard the click of the pacifier as it hit the ground, we knew what was happening and said 'no' right away. He thought that wheel looked pretty tasty. He got very sad and offended that we would say such a word to him, and started to cry. Once I got him calmed down we let him have another shot at Lego building. The pacifier plopped out of his mouth yet another 2 times. It was time for a different activity for the baby. So him and I went away from the chaos for awhile.

When we came back he watched us for awhile digging through the pile, picking up pieces and putting them back. It wasn't long before he stated mimicking us by grabbing the Lego's, lifting them in the air and dropping them. He would also grab the Lego's and push them to his side. He was very cute with them and only tried to eat one more Lego after that.

Michael kept most of his little recipes, if you will, of how to make different toys out of Lego's so I thought the plane one looked like fun. We were able to make the entire plane, car, and fork lift that was all in that little booklet and was only missing one piece by the end of it! Not too bad.

Enjoy the pictures!

Will is one!!!

I cannot believe Will is one year old, Well technically not until 10:25 tonight! :) Will is doing great!!

He is getting so close to crawling, he will get up on his hands and knees from sitting and rock away. He usually goes from sitting, to all fours to on his belly then he rolls over. He really doesn't like being on his belly so he usually rolls over quickly once he is there. He rolls where ever he wants to go and isn't pulling him self to standing yet. He can't even stand with support. We still have his crib on the highest setting because it is impossible for him to get out.

Will enjoys eating and is loving getting to eat yogurt, cheese, and will even drink some milk from a sippy cup. Baby food is old news and he now wants what we are eating. I usually chop up whatever we are eating in my food processor so it is chunky but not pureed. He is still nursing and I really don't know when we will be ending it, he is making great progress on drinking from a sippy cup so it might not be that much longer.

Will loves to bang puzzle pieces together, he likes driving Joshua's toy cars back and forth, he likes listening to some musical books we have. He likes playing with his toys, and being outside (preferably not in the stroller). He enjoys snack time, milk time, bath time (he would take two baths a day if I would let him) and time with his brother. He goes to sleep on his own 99% of the time. He loves to talk but isn't saying much of anything yet maybe just mama, and all done (most of the time when I ask him if he is finished eating). Will is a pretty happy baby who enjoys company, and someone who will play with him. He doesn't like watching TV and hasn't watched a single show yet!

Enjoy the pictures from this morning! I made him his first eggs for breakfast with cantaloupe. For dinner we might go to Corona Village (Mexican restaurant) or I'll make some raviolis. I still need/want to make him a birthday cake!

Will's first birthday party.

Yesterday we drove to Cheyenne to have Will's first birthday party at my In-laws house. My sister Wendee and her two daughters drove up from Denver to spend this time with us. That morning I made some cupcakes (zucchini and apple with frosting and sprinkles), made some brownies, a salad for lunch and drove the 45 minutes or so to Cheyenne. Will took a morning nap in the car on the way over and I'm glad he did so he wasn't as grumpy for his party. Before the party we went to the dollar store to get some balloons for the party. As I was going out of the store Will could see me holding the balloons from the car and broke out into a huge grin, waving his arms. The entire way back to my In-laws Will was trying to grab the balloons, and talking to them.

Will's birthday party was a little different than Joshua's. For Joshua's we had a theme, I made a fancy cake, we even had a birthday party for Joshua's friends. For Will; I bought the supplies from the dollar store, I made a cheap cake, and we had a family party instead. I enjoyed it, however, the party went way too fast. Although we did sing 'Happy Birthday' to him he is still 11 months old and won't be a year until 10:25pm on May 5th!! :)

Opening gifts!! Thank you everyone for everything!!!

Will's cake

Happy Birthday to you!!

Just before this picture I tried to finger feed Will a piece of his frosted cupcake. He wouldn't eat it so I put a piece in his mouth and he started to cry because I 'made' him eat some of the sweet yummy cake. So I gave him his pacifier to calm him down.

This IS yummmy!!

Time for a bath so I can play with my new bubble machine. Thank you Aunt Wendee and family and Aunt Heather!

Hands on

Last night Will discovered the light switch and thermostat in his bed room. I stopped while walking by to let him play and see if he could get the light on and off by himself. He was able to turn the nob for the thermostat and make the lights go on and off. At first he could only turn the light on with his right thumb and turn it off with his left thumb but in a minute or two he was a pro at turning the light on and off with his left thumb. He would give me a little giggle when he would turn the light on and off. The light switch and thermostat was close enough together that he could touch the light switch with his left hand and the thermostat with his right.
