Update
We haven't really been doing much lately. Joshua has really enjoyed going to the Library story time. While there he gets to sing songs, listen to someone read some books, he loves getting his hand stamped, and after all that they get to make something. Last week we learned about apples (all fictional books) and he was able to make an apple tree. The instructor had all the pieces pre-cut and Joshua pasted them all on the paper. He loves pasting paper and has even been doing that at home a lot. He is great using a glue stick and sticking the little pieces on the paper. He also loves to paint, color, and play with play-dough.

After story time (the one with the apples) we went to the store to get supplies for apple pies. Joshua really enjoyed watching me cut up all the apples, he loved eating them too. After I put the sugar, flour, cinnamon, and nutmeg on the apples and gave them a good stir, he realized that they taste so much better like that and ate even more apples. Here is a picture of him with the yummy coated apples. Once the pies were cooked he didn't really have an interest in them at all but he was a good helper in the kitchen.

I want to share some cute things Joshua has been doing. He loves to try to count, and he enjoyed running to me. So our latest game is to have him stand against a wall and he counts two bee go!! (two three go), and runs to me. When ever he wants us to start something, anything he says "two, bee, go!!" it is now running into one word not three, he is very cute.
He also loves watching "Browie" (Barney) as he says it. He has learned all his colors and some shapes because of the show. The other day he was pasting shapes on a piece of paper and he would show me a shape and say "two, bee corners" he is trying to tell me how many corners was on the shape. When ever he counts he leaves one out and counts "two, bee, poor..." then repeats them.
I need to try to get him to count for me on video and say barney. It is so funny, he has such a personality I wish I could share it with you more often. If I get something on video I'll post it soon. :)

Happy first day of Fall
I love fall and everything that comes with it. The cool, crisp air, changing leaves, farmer's markets, zucchini, squash, and fresh baked breads. Short walks, and last visits to the park before the snow. I love finding the cute little costume my little monster will wear at each Halloween. I like sweaters, scarves, hats and mittens and drinking cocoa or cider from my mugs. I love the pink little nose my son gets after playing outside. Since Joshua has been born I have grown a special place for fall in my heart. I have gone on many walks with him and I enjoy watching different areas of Laramie change with the season. This season feels like the beginning of the year to me. Since 1989 either I have started a new school year or my husband has started a new school year in the fall. I like the line in the movie You've Got Mail "Fall makes me want to buy school supplies" "If I knew your name and address I'd send you a bouquet of freshly sharpened pencils." I think it would be funny to actually receive a bouquet of freshly sharpened pencils.
Here are some pictures of trees right out our window. I thought the colors were beautiful and had to take a picture of it all before it went away.
If you click on the picture you can see all the colors better.

Crazy Day
So I thought my day was good enough (or bad enough) to blog about so here it goes.
It started like any other day we get up, eat, get dressed, but today we went to Bible study at 10am and a friends house. The study went well and I was out of there by 12:15pm. As we were headed out the door I realized I didn't know where my keys were, they were in the car. I tried calling Michael at least two times to see if he would bring me the set of keys, but he wouldn't answer the phone, I thought maybe he is in the shower or he decided to work in the office instead of at home. So I asked Debbie if she could take me to my house to get my extra set of car keys, she said she would. We got to my house, I told her that the back door should be unlocked, it wasn't. I tried the front door, it wasn't. I even tried to break in through the screen but the window was locked.
We drove to Campus in search for my husband who had the extra set of keys. I couldn't find him so we went to his work office and a lady at the front desk said he called in because he went to check the mail and locked him self out of his house. So now he doesn't have the extra set of keys, we are locked out of our car and our house. Very sad.
Debbie drove us to get the extra set from a box our land lady has, drive back home, unlock the house, drive to our car to get it. Then drive home. I should have been home by 12:30, instead I was home by 2:30. All in all we had a great time, we ate lunch at the park so the boys could play. Joshua enjoyed the car ride with Tyler and he even fell asleep on the way home so he got his nap in too. I was very please about that.
I guess it is time for me to sew. :)

Felt board
Yesterday I wanted to make something for Joshua. His room echos very badly so I thought something above his bed might help a little bit. We went to Wal-mart and bought a bulletin board and some felt. Came home attached the felt to the bulletin board and cut out felt pieces. I have 4 stories in a binder with animal cut outs that go along with the stories. He has had a lot of fun with this board already, I am sure he will get a lot of use out of it. I am looking forward to showing him the stories, hopefully sometime today.

Our walk.
Yes I was stupid and decided we would go on a walk and it would be enjoyable. It has been over cast all day out but had quit raining for quite a while. Joshua didn't take a nap yet today so I thought we would go on a walk so he could snooze for a little while, and so I could get some exercise. Well all was fine, Joshua was snoozing it wasn't raining, I had just stopped to check my heart rate when I felt a sting on my thigh.
OUCH! I just got stung. I wasn't sure by what yet I was still walking holding my watch in my right hand swatting my leg with my left when I got stung again on my right hand middle finger. I saw the hornet, or wasp (I can't tell the difference) on the stroller top I started to RUN... I didn't know they could sting you multiple times. I will not walk on that side of Bill Nye again. I made it about two blocks when it started to down poor. I was still at least 6 blocks away from our house. I am thankful Joshua slept the entire way and that he had a plastic protector over him so he didn't get wet. His blanket did though soaked, and so did my coat and pants.
Once I got us inside I checked my sting wounds, the one on my leg swelled up to the size of a quarter and the one on my finger is the size of a pencil eraser. They still sting and I still hate anything that stings.

Neighbor troubles
I really HATE confrontation. Our neighbors have been LOUD since the day we moved in and I am annoyed by it. I can right now as I type hear their music clear as day. I opened my front door, almost put my foot out the door to ask them to please be quiet, when I walked back in my house and closed the door. I am one who enjoys peace and quiet and listening to someone's music doesn't count as peace and quiet.
If anyone has any neat ideas or ways for me to ask them to please be quiet that would be great. It is annoying when my son is trying to sleep and I am trying to rest. I thought about making a bag of cookies or something and attaching a note to the bag asking them to please be quiet.
I really enjoy our house and the location of where we live but I really think that when July comes around and we have to sign our lease we won't and move to the University apartments. Hopefully our name will be next on the waiting list by then and we can move in. The move I am dreading but I like how think the walls were there and that if my neighbor were being too loud I could call the university police and they would take care of it.

Aspen Alley
Yesterday morning we got up bright and early, made a sack lunch and got in the car to make the 2 1/2 hour trip to Aspen Alley. I heard about this spot from Kristen's sister and thought it would be so much fun to go see. Joshua loved walking up and down the road, and being able to eat his lunch on the trunk of the car. The trip there wasn't the best because Joshua was crabby most of the time but it was worth going once we got there. The trip home was much better.

I have no clue why he felt the need to use his thumb to point at me but he did, and it was a cute picture.

Aspen Alley

Us.

Our cutie.

All over Aspen Alley were carvings in the trees. I really wanted to find one that said L heart M or M heart L or L & M in a heart. But no such luck.

Washington park
We spent a lot of time at Washington park last week so I thought I would take some pictures. I know Joshua loves the park and would spend all of his time there if he could so before winter hits I thought I would take him to the park a lot. I just need to make sure we are bundled up. Joshua is now able to climb on all of the equipment with out the help of me. Of course he likes me to follow him around, push him on the swing and catch him when he slides down the slide but I enjoy doing all of those things anyway.
On this day Joshua and I brought a picnic lunch and spread out a blanket to eat it on, it was a good day. I should plan a few more of these.

Territorial Prison
Tuesday 4 lady friends of mine and their children went to the Territorial Prison within our city limits. We had a great time walking through the restored prison and reading about everyone who had served time there. Butch Cassidy served some time there too as well as 12 women inmates. I think I'll go back again and look at other buildings on the grounds, they have a museum and other buildings we can look in.
Here are some pictures of our trip there. I suggest if you are in town you should stop in and see it, it is only $5.

This look out extended from the third floor so the guard could see all the jail cells.

Labor Day
For Labor Day Michael, Joshua, and I picked lunch up from Carl Jr. and followed the Winegars past the Lincoln Monument to a nice picnic area in the woods. It was chilly and windy but we enjoyed our time together. I really can't remember what else we did, it must not have been important or I am too tired to think. : ) Enjoy the pictures.

Joshua looks like an Elk. He had fun with the sticks.

A flower Joshua picked for me. We told him we had to leave it there since we were in a park and you are supposed to only take with you what you brought. He was sad, but let me take a picture so we could leave it.

Blurb
I just wanted to let everyone know of a very cool program. I got the idea from Kristen's sister, it is called booksmart and you can get it from www.blurb.com. Using this program you are able to upload your blogs and print them out so you can have a hard cover book. I just finished coping and pasting my xanga blog to the booksmart so I can delete that blog and have it in a really nice album. Of course I deleted any blog that I didn't want or care to see later in the future. Unfortunately xanga is one that you cannot upload onto the booksmart program. That is why I had to copy and paste.
Blogger is one of the blogs booksmart can automatically upload your blogs to. It doesn't take very long and all your blogs and pictures are on the correct page. The prices are great too. This way we have a detailed photo album of all of our travels and life experiences all in one album. I know I sell scrapbooking things but I really think I will start doing this instead of scrapbooking.
I hope you all enjoy the program I know I have.
