A trip to our pool

On August 7th we walked to our pool. Joshua loves going and Will doesn't care too much for the water, but we enjoyed our time and I think Joshua had a blast.

Lego's

Last night we decided to dig out Michael's big box of Lego's. For months Joshua has played with a small bag of Lego's we bought at a flea market. He tries to make cars, planes, space ships, you name it from the tiny bag. This bag of Lego's frustrate us a lot since there aren't many Lego's and Joshua plays hard with them so they fall apart a lot. So last night we thought we would give him more Lego's to play with. Will was napping at the time so we spread out the Lego's everywhere so we could find all the tiny pieces. Joshua thought this was a lot of fun, having mommy and daddy on the floor with him creating things. I had fun too, since I grew up with three sisters I never got to experience playing with Lego's much.

Then Will woke up, I brought him down stairs, he saw the mess and wanted down instantly. I'm sure he thought it looked like a lot of fun. I sat him down next to me away from the Lego's. He watched at first then grabbed a wheel that was close to him, proudly laughing. Then we heard the click of the pacifier as it hit the ground, we knew what was happening and said 'no' right away. He thought that wheel looked pretty tasty. He got very sad and offended that we would say such a word to him, and started to cry. Once I got him calmed down we let him have another shot at Lego building. The pacifier plopped out of his mouth yet another 2 times. It was time for a different activity for the baby. So him and I went away from the chaos for awhile.

When we came back he watched us for awhile digging through the pile, picking up pieces and putting them back. It wasn't long before he stated mimicking us by grabbing the Lego's, lifting them in the air and dropping them. He would also grab the Lego's and push them to his side. He was very cute with them and only tried to eat one more Lego after that.

Michael kept most of his little recipes, if you will, of how to make different toys out of Lego's so I thought the plane one looked like fun. We were able to make the entire plane, car, and fork lift that was all in that little booklet and was only missing one piece by the end of it! Not too bad.

Enjoy the pictures!

Easter Happenings.

We had a wonderful Easter. The week before Joshua and I tie-died t-shirts for our family Joshua had a lot of fun squirting the die on the spots he wanted colored. I think they turned out well, nice and bright wonderful for spring! Joshua and I made some Easter cupcakes, they were really just banana bread with cream cheese frosting but Joshua likes the word cupcakes so that is what they were. The Saturday before Easter we died Easter eggs with our neighbor. Joshua loved dieing them and would die the eggs over and over again. Saturday we were planning on attending an Easter egg hunt at a church just out of town but I got the time wrong and we weren't able to go. So I went to the Dollar Store and bought some items so our neighbor girl and Joshua could go on a hunt. They had a lot of fun finding the eggs and a great time opening them up to eat and see what toys would be inside.

The weather Easter Sunday was pretty crummy, at one point there was a blizzard out. The sun did eventually shine, but it was pretty windy and cool. We had the boy's Easter baskets on the table for then when they woke up. Will was a pretty happy kid getting to examine what was in his basket, he had to taste and shake everything. Joshua loved the basket as well and was pretty pleased with what was inside. I think we did good this year. After Church we drove to Cheyenne to spend Easter with Michael's little sister, Mom, and Dad. We had a wonderful meal and conversation!

Before Easter we celebrated Michael's 25th birthday on the 1st of April. I made him a thin mint cheesecake and a spaghetti dinner. We were also able to leave the boys with our neighbor for an hour or so that afternoon because Michael's boss and co-workers took him out. It was fun getting out of the house with no children even if it was for a short time. That night we played Mario Cart for the Wii with Michael's friend from Illinois. The game was Michael's gift although Joshua seems to think it was for him. Joshua enjoys the game as well. :)

Picking out our pumpkins

Yesterday we went to Safeway to pick out pumpkins to carve and have some for decoration. We won't be carving them until a few days before Halloween but I thought it would be nice to have some for decoration until then. Joshua had a fun time picking out pumpkins, I think Michael enjoyed it too! Will was cold and clung to me the entire time. Joshua was a little disappointed to find out we weren't carving them that day and that it would be a while before we would do anything to them. He remembers lighting up our pumpkin last year to look at it in the bathroom. Sometimes he has quite the memory. Next year I would love to go to a farm to get the pumpkin then maybe our boys can have fun petting the animals and playing the games they have there.
